Canoeing
Please click

information and pictures about the two-day Squirrel
Route from Juva to Sulkava.
Fishing
The lakes
and rivers play a major role during your visit. The
fishing possibilities are excellent since the cottages
are situated by lakes.
There is
also a Karijoki fly fishing area from Viitakoski dam to
Auvinen bridge. Fishing permits are sold at Hotel Juva.
A rowing
boat is available for your daily use.
Horse riding
Leijonamieli
Horse Stables arrange horse riding, field courses and
introductory courses. The stables are located within 15
minutes drive from the cottages. Ask further information
from Family Kaartinen.
Nature
The
surroundings of the cottages are relaxing and very
silent. The forests are perfect for picking mushroom or
wild berries or just to wander around and enjoy the
nature.
You may
wake up with birds singing outside your window, listen to
the hoot of the cranes and even find tracks of an elk
right behind the cottage. Or just get a nice sun tan by
lying on the dock.
Sauna
You can heat
the sauna as often as you wish. For experiencing the real
Finnish 'smoke sauna' you can hire a traditional
chimneyless sauna evening from the hosts.
For
information about the Finnish Sauna culture, visit
website of The Finnish Sauna Society.
Motor rentals
Rent a jetski, snowmobile or
a moror home from Jettinetti.
Culture
The local
cultural events include many possibilities. As example,
check the Savonlinna Opera Festival and Retretti
Art Centre.
